i can’t adequately put into words how it felt to be present for such a special day. juli is a dear friend and watching someone you love give birth is such an incredible whirlwind of raw emotion and perspective shifting awe. it was an honor to be in the room with these beautiful people and share the energy that brought beau into the world. here are some strung together moments, no words. so much love. love you guys. xoxoxoxo.

months ago, my friend juli, a doula from journey of the bump, asked me if i would be available to photograph a birth in september. ami would be having her fourth baby, a girl, while her husband is deployed in south korea. the pictures would be to tell the story for him. i obviously jumped at the opportunity. what an absolute honor it was to be present for this sweet girls entrance into the world, and it was my very first time doing birth photography. i loved every single second of it. it was and raw and beautiful and perfect. thank you so much for having me, ami. congratulations on having the incredibly powerful natural birth you wanted and for creating the beautiful experience you hoped for. i wish you and your family nothing but the best.
